This is a Hubble telescope image that I Photoshopped to create the sensation of movement, a la Star Trek. I'm sure you know that those individual points of light are galaxies comprising between 10 million (in a dwarf galaxy) and 100 Trillion stars (in the largest known galaxy). Our own galaxy, the Milky Way, has an estimated 200 billion stars. Now try to wrap your head around the fact that there are at least 80 billion galaxies and the visible matter they're made of is only about 5 percent of the total composition of the universe (dark matter is theorized to be about 25 percent and dark energy about 70 percent).
Not sure where I'm going with this, except that it's a lot of fun to write about the big picture.
